Founded in 1984 by Eric Dowe, the family-run business has grown from a small workshop into a trusted fabrication partner for engineers, architects and contractors. Throughout its growth, SSF has built a reputation for delivering custom fabricated steel solutions ranging from heavy-duty structural frames and support systems to specialised stainless steel assemblies.
SSF works closely with project teams from CAD design and prototype development through to installation-ready components, helping engineers, architects and contractors develop practical and cost-effective fabrication solutions.
The company also offers an in-house design service, enabling projects to move efficiently from concept through to fabrication while ensuring designs are practical, compliant and ready for manufacture.

Simon Dowe
Director
Simon is one of the three company directors and his key responsibilities include sales, estimating and purchasing. He joined Stainless Steel Fixings in 1987, following ten years service in the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards of the British Army.
Simon supports some of the company’s biggest customers on a wide variety of projects. Highlights include the Westfield Shopping Centre (W12) in 2007, the Curtis Green Building (SW1) in 2016 and The Glebe (SW3) in 2017.
Outside work he enjoys golf and fly fishing.

Darren Dowe
Sales Manager
Darren has worked at Stainless Steel Fixings since 2002, as a fabricator and fully qualified welder.
Darren has now moved to sales whereby his experience and skills will be an asset to the future of the company.
In his time away from the office, Darren enjoys Airsoft and football.

Clive Dowe
Director
Clive has worked at Stainless Steel Fixings since 1986 and is one of the three company directors. After achieving his degree in Chemistry, he worked in the chemical industry before travelling extensively, then on his return he joined his father Eric, at Stainless Steel Fixings Ltd, which was at the time, a fledgling business.
Clive’s years of experience in the construction industry are put to good use in the areas of estimating, sales and general management. Projects he has worked on include; 25 Canon Street (completed 2006), the £550m Bloomberg Building, both in the City, and the 28 storey curving Tower, One Bank Street in Canary Wharf.
When he’s not working, Clive enjoys riding motorbikes and recently went to the MotoGP in Italy.

Sarah-Jane Dowe
Company secretary/Office manager
Since joining the family business in 2014, Sarah-Jane has taken responsibility for logistics and regulatory compliance. This includes on-going audits for EN1090 and health and safety. In 2015 she took the leading role to achieve FORS Silver for the company’s delivery vehicles.
Before joining Stainless Steel Fixings, Sarah-Jane gained several years’ office management experience working for a civil and structural engineering consultant and a Formula 1 simulation centre. This experience has proved invaluable for her on-going administrative duties. She also provides additional cover for the sales and purchasing processes.
In her time away from the office, Sarah-Jane enjoys horse riding and spending time with family and friends.
