Rock Fall UK is a multi-award-winning Safety Footwear Specialist, founded in 1997, this second-generation family run business. Since trading began 27 years ago, Rock Fall have had a positive impact on the health and safety industry. Developing a strong and loyal distribution base worldwide. The company pro-actively collaborate with major end-users and industry associations to improve workplace safety in accordance with PPE.

Since 2014 brothers, Richard and Matthew Noon have moved Rock Fall UK from safety footwear specialist into the realms of environmentally friendly, ‘sustainable’ safety footwear campion.

Richard Noon is constantly talking about how we ‘must reshape safety footwear,’ thinking beyond the product itself and ‘considering its entire lifecycle,’ including ‘disposal.’ In his words, “Sustainability holds various definitions, but for me, it’s about contributing positively to the environment and the world at large. It’s also smart business. With 95% of our customers based in the industrial sector, working on some of largest infrastructures, and auto manufacturing plants, across the UK and European continent, environmental credentials are now top of the list of tender attributes. The same companies want to know what makes us a sustainable company.” And “Product credentials are no different.”

It has become their mission to revolutionise safety footwear, challenging industry norms by re-engineering safety footwear development to leave a lighter footprint on the planet. Using state-of-the-art knowledge, their approach has been to rationalise and diversified the Rock Fall product offering to provide customers with sustainable safety footwear choices.

Matthew Noon talks about the development process, “We carefully considered the requirements of industry before developing safety footwear around suitability; matching requirements to industry needs in the early phases of the product development and setting baseline such as product features and performance that reflect customers actual needs during concept design.” We then introduce solutions that combines science, data, with new product development, to maximise the possibilities of ‘recycling and reusing and rethinking’ the materials that can be used in industry specific, safety footwear production.”

But it is really all  about the boots!

The Rock Fall Safety footwear range is continually growing and expanding into all kinds of specialist industries.

2024 will see the launch of several new product ranges that are worksite inspired, fully tested in quarry environments, on construction sites, across heavy industry facilities, and engineering sectors.

Firstly, a finalist in the BISF safety awards 2024 for the Hurricane BOA | RF720 safety boot developed for women who work in heavy industry, this range is destined to improve the health and wellbeing of women who work in construction, mining, and engineering sectors.

Secondly a finalist in the Draper Footwear Awards 2024 category – Men’s Footwear Brand of the Year. We worked closely with industry representatives in the development of a branded men’s urban streetstyle safety footwear range.

Designed to fit naturally into traditional construction lifestyle and because they are so lightweight, alternatively take the wearer ‘out-of-office’.

Rock Fall are the first company to introduce a range of sleek, sporting Vegan safety trainers and mid-cut boot range, specifically designed for professionals working in the electronics industries. Verified by the Vegan Society.

Rock Fall has rapidly shifted from considering how they use new environmental responsible processes and sustainable sourced raw materials, to fully incorporating ‘design-to-green’ methods into their R&D processes.

This dedicated approach has propelled 90% of Rock Fall’s footwear range into the realm of environmental friendliness.
